ContentWise identifies narrow interests and biases of each user and automatically generates pseudo-genres with catchy titles to stimulate the user’s curiosity. For example, “trending binge-viewed series”, “romantic movies set in France in the 90’s” or “TV Series with a strong female character”. This gives viewers an increased sense of abundance and catalog depth, leading to higher retention- something that is especially critical for subscription services such as SVOD and pay-TV.
ContentWise automatically creates hundreds of content meta-genres that are unique to each viewer. Leveraging its metadata processing engine, recommendations algorithms and past user behavior, context and time, it promotes the most relevant ones and showcases them on dedicated carousels or dynamically assembled sections of the UI.
ContentWise event management module is extremely flexible and gives operators the ability to define custom user’s events in addition to standard events like views, purchase and ratings. The event processing engine comes with the ability to manage several individual (e.g. Dad, Mom, Child…) and device-specific (e.g. TV living room, Dad’s tablet…) sub-profiles within the umbrella of a household as well as to control the response of the system to contextual information such as time of day, location and device.
