With ContentWise Business Rules, operators gain visibility and control across the entire end-to-end users discovery flow. Business Rules allow to push, filter and blend recommendations’ results according to demographic, pricing, behavioral and time-of-day criteria. In actual live deployments, ContentWise recommendations have increased VOD sales by 15%, revenue by 25% and subscriber retention by 40%.
ContentWise provides an integrated module to test multiple live configuration of the engine, with an internal A/B testing engine. Operators can easily define subsets of the userbase as “treatment groups”, and test sets of rules and configurations against them, and comparing them to the performance of a control group.
Performance Predictor empowers editorial and licensing teams to measure the performance of licensed assets and existing programming and to design and test scenarios to forecast how editorial choices impact user engagement, activity and ARPU. It helps them analyze what catalog items have the highest conversion potential, estimate user engagement and activity if a certain item would be recommended or promoted, drive licensing extension or acquisition decisions based on actual production performance and develop optimal content acquisition plans.
Batch processes enable ingestion of information from external sources like files dumps, web services or database query. The engine is extremely configurable to support custom file formats and processes execution is managed and monitored by the ContentWise scheduler, configurable from the ContentWise portal. Web services APIs provide real time categorized interfaces that feed information to the engine (e.g. users’ actions), generate recommendation results and manage the engine configuration. Web services are available in the SOAP and REST format.
