Discover ContentWise recommendation technology and how ContentWise seamlessly and easily integrates into your existing Digital TV ecosystem.
ContentWise can be rapidly and easily integrated with your environment. Core agent-less data capture technology allows ContentWise to plug into any data source from any user interface or device. ContentWise collects and processes two main types of information: content metadata and users activities.
ContentWise collects the metadata associated with the content available on any TV service such as VOD, live TV, PVR and others. ContentWise supports standard metadata definition (CableLabs, TV-Anytime) and it can be easily extended to collect operator-defined metadata.
ContentWise collects activity information related to a specific user of a certain TV platform. In particular, it gathers stores and processes, users purchases, views, explicit preferences, user feedbacks and subscription details.
ContentWise uses different algotypes to calculate recommendations
ContentWise categorizes and maps content affinity, by parsing metadata information and drawing correlations between similar items.
ContentWise measure and leverages social affinity among users, based on the analysis of preferences and activity in order to define clusters of similar user tastes among the whole customer base or within a smaller, configurable subset.
ContentWise generates configurable rankings of the the most popular viewed or purchased items during any number of defined time periods.
ContentWise ranks and recommends content based on time parameters and events, such as release dates or time of day consumption.
ContentWise is a fully modular platform based on open standards that enables a seamless integration into existing Digital TV ecosystems. ContentWise provides middleware technology that exposes services trough standard interfaces (SOAP, EJB) and that can be used by TV portals (Web, Mobile, STB) to retrieve the information to be presented to the final user. Each device/UI Interface that communicates with ContentWise is identified as a unique “caller” and can be configured with its own parameters and settings.

ContentWise is made up of the following ContentWise Application Server components:
ProcServer automatically imports and analyzes inbound data.
RecServer elaborates requests from configured interfaces such as a Web Portal, TV set or STB). RecServer also provides a set of APIs (SOAP/EJB) that can be used to retrieve information (e.g. ask for recommendations) or to push data (e.g. insert new ratings).
ContentWise Database stores all the collected information including content metadata, views, ratings, explicit preferences.
ContentWise GUI runs on top of ContentWise Application Servers providing a complete set of management and configuration capabilities.
ContentWise ProcServer and RecServer run on standard J2EE-compliant application servers on Linux platforms. Typically JBoss AS on RedHat (RHEL) is recommended. ProcServer and RecServer components can be deployed on multiple physical servers in a high-availability configuration. ContentWise Database Server is either a MySQL or an Oracle database (recommended for large deployments).
